What happened in the New Orleans.
So, have we all heard Beyoncé’s new song? Please say yes. All this controversy over Queen Bey. She really knows how to spark a flame. So, my personal opinion on all this controversy? ..IS WHO CARES. Beyoncé’s artistic ability and indescribable talent
yet again completely dominates all other artists. Her lyrics might be taken to heart by some, but you really can’t take her dance moves offensive. She kills it. So, ironically, the day her new music video dropped, I landed on a flight from LAX into New Orleans. And yep, you guessed it, I was heading in for Mardi Gras. My Mardi Gras adventures began with Moms Ball.
Killer wig, right? Found this whole sha-bang outfit at Forever 21 and the lovely wig came from Party City. What was I dressed as? We decided I was a naughty tennis coach. Works for me. So, the first big night of Mardi Gras was full of colors and music.
I’m just glad that none of us were sent to costume jail. And yes, that is a real thing at moms ball if you’re wearing too many clothes :O.
One of my favorite things about Mardi Gras is all the colors. And all the craziness. If it is weird, then it is considered normal on this particular week. We went out to catch Baccus, one of my favorite parades. Bacchus is the greek god of wine, for my wine lovers. And we left overloaded with beads and wine.
Finally, it is Fat Tuesday. I woke up on this day ecstatic. This is it. This is THE day. The day of colors, costumes, craziness, anything that seems funky happens on Fat Tuesday. One of my favorite days of the year. What is the first thing you do on Fat
Tuesday? Head into the Marigny. We stopped at Mimi’s before joining our parade into the French Quarter. Where we, of course, made our way to Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop for a purple. And, low and behold, there it was, the chair.
And right then and there, I became the queen of Mardi Gras. Bulldozing through the crowd in my mobile chair. The day could not possibly have gotten any cooler. So, I say this to those that have not experienced a Mardi Gras day, DO IT. It is one of those
once-in-lifetime-gotta-do-it-just-once days. You won’t regret it, I promise. I was sad to land back in LA after this fun filled week with old friends. Back to the west coast I went…..
